Refurbish a speaker for a spare?

Waxman

my announcement speaker in my automatic bay went bad and I ordered a new one. These speakers are expensive. Has anyone had any luck repairing them and keeping them on the shelf for a spare?

At that price, it would probably be worth getting an electronics repair place to look at it. Sometimes its just something simple that went out. Like $1 worth of capacitors making a computer monitor not work.

Yes. I have a friend who is very good with electronics, circuit boards, and speakers. He used to build high-end sound equipment in Boston years ago. I will definitely take a look at the old one because I doubt it's too complicated.

not sure but its def past 2 years

been in operation a year and 8 months and all equipment sat on my lot quite awhile during rehab of my bay.
