Saturday I realized my boiler was not working.
I got out the manual and started troubleshooting.
According to the book if the pilot lights (intermittent electronic pilot) and I have 24 volts at the gas valve then the gas valve has failed.
Monday morning I picked up a new valve.($265.00)
Install it, pilot lights but no main burner.
Now what?
Started thinking and thought I would check my floor heat boiler.
Same situation, pilot lights but no main burner.
I cycled my infrared heater in the equipment room.
It tried to light but wouldn't.
Then I got to thinking maybe it's the gas pressure.
I don't have the tools to check this so I called the gas company.
They came out in a short while and they found the gas meter had failed. It would allow enough gas through for the pilots but not enough for the main burners. Changed out the meter and life is almost good.
Floor heat boiler works and so does the infrared heater. But my DHW boiler still would not fire the main burner.
I thought I may have shorted out the module that controls the gas valve.
I shut the boiler down and went home.
Tuesday morning I fired up the boiler and everything is working fine.I think the module went into a lockout mode and it took some time for it to reset itself.

I reinstalled the original gas valve and my boiler is working fine
I hope I can return the new gas valve I bought.
