Just wondered if anyone had a good suggestion on a Rain Water Harvesting system for Weeps and HP wash water for self serve facilities. I am interested in this for my 7 bay self serve - For that mater a water reclaim system that might be compact enough to fit in a small equipment room to supplement water costs..

Rain Water Harvesting for weeps and Wash Water

I have done this on a large scale for big marinas. It’s not that expensive. Just run the gutters to the holding tanks, which will be the biggest cost. The bigger the tank the better. The one we did was three 5,000 gallon tanks. Rainwater is generally as clean as RO water. A simple pump and controls will send it to where you need it.

During a cold winter up north ... run off from the roofs during a thaw can be a problem ice wise on the parking lot etc. Possibly one of us could address two problems at once. At home ... it could be great for those of us with large vegetable gardens. Another project on mine & others' wish list to get done!
Forgot about the part of using it for weep. Easy to forget living in Florida. Most equipment rooms don’t have room for 10,000 gallons os water and the tanks will normally be outside. That complicated things for you up north. And I used above ground tanks because the water police(yes they do exist) said once the water hits the ground, it’s theirs. So in some cases it makes sense. You have to figure your roof size and multiply by your annual rainfall to see if it’s doable.

How about reclaiming pit water for suplimental use of both wash and weep water - is there a mock up drawing of such an animal - would think it may minimize the tank size of the water - run a line down to the first reclaim tank - pump it into a collection tank and use it accordingly - continual use? - have an overflow on the tank - in the equipment room - might be good for supplementing weeps at the very lest? Has anyone tried this? Thinking like a sump pit system -
