Microcoin is superior for token acceptance also, your sample size for token comparison can basically be as big as you want it to be, slugbuster is a sample size of 1 for comparison, which is not ideal when different batches of tokens aren't exactly the same even from the same token manufacturer. Even within the same token batches we've seen variations that the slugbuster couldn't handle without decreased sensitivity.
We still have issues with Microcoin here and there but mostly pretty good. It just bothers me since that they are the most expensive, has a flimsy frame, and made in China. We have two Slugbuster III acceptors and only use those because they are short drop in our old retro-cobbled Doyle vacs. We initially had issues when we accepted quarters and dollars. Now that we only accept our dollar tokens and quarters, they have been pretty good.Microcoin is superior for token acceptance also, your sample size for token comparison can basically be as big as you want it to be, slugbuster is a sample size of 1 for comparison, which is not ideal when different batches of tokens aren't exactly the same even from the same token manufacturer. 26 years ago we stopped this problem for good. We put in SlugBuster III’s (those babies are bulletproof!) and started dispensing a mix of tokens and quarters in our changers. It’s prob an 85/15 split. Everything at our car wash accepts tokens so our customers don’t care about receiving some tokens, but all the other noncustomers using our changers don’t want the tokens so they stopped getting quarters from us.We have a large number of quarters leaving the premises, probably heading to a laundromat or donut shop. Now that we have added credit cards to the bays, we are running to the minus with quarters on a weekly basis. Is the best fix to put a mix of quarters and tokens in the changers, and convert the coin acceptors in the bay meters. We use single coin slugbusters, perhaps a dual coin slugbuster would be a good choice for the bay meters. Also looks like a coin sorter will be needed, if this is the direction to go. I am wondering how other operators are are handling this problem, and what the coin acceptor, sorter, token recommends are. Thanks for the help.

Yeah i got a quote back today and it was pretty high! Honestly everything you buy retail is high! Seems like you have to bootleg it to get anything at a reasonable price. If your looking at the catalog online it's 7 years old, I think the prices have gone up a little bit since 2018.
