When I install a pressure gauge on my SS pumps , tried the "Liquid filled from KR part #s GAL 3000B and GAL 3000R they blow apart in a short time.

What are you guys using?

The glycerin filled gauges I’ve used have a sticker stating something like “snip the tip” of the rubber cap before putting into service.
Some gauges have a plastic lever on the rubber cap that’s supposed to be flipped “open” after installation.
Could that be the problem?

Buy Noshok Gauges. More $ but lasts many years.

The Kleen-Rite gauges are crap.

Snipping the tip off is just to prevent pressure from blowing the plug out. I don't snip it because once you do you can't take the gauge off without being super careful not to spill it. I sometimes slit it with a razor so it can expand but usually just leave it.

I've had good service with Ashcroft. Approx $20 from Dultmeier and others.

I've been getting them from a local distributor, I think $13.99, OCI Instruments brand.
