Plastic pole covers, Bollards?

My pole covers are covered in surface rust and in need of sanding and painting.
Has anybody used any of the plastic pole covers KR sells? What are the pros and cons of using this product? I was wondering if they will hold up well or do they get old looking fast.
I would like to eliminate the yearly painting routine.
Thanks

We too had painted poles and installed the plastic covers and 5 years later no fade no problems also had the reflective strips added highly recommended.

I think some of mine are 7yrs old and look good. What i have seen around
town is that the darker colors will fade more than lighter colors, but still good
for 10yrs if you don't mind a lighter color as they fade. Red will look the worst if --in the sun. Use some spray foam down the tube beside the foam strips and they wont move.

Ditto on positive comments. Painting seems to look bad shortly after it's done.

They will show scuff marks from being hit.

I'm surprised no one sells a cover like this for Vac Islands as an alternative to Stainless or aluminum.

I put blue IdealShield covers on about 8 years ago and they're not fading at all. Kleen-Rite has a much cheaper version that hopefully won't fade.

I want to find a slightly oversize thin-wall stainless tube to put over a bollard and fill the gap with mortar. I think it would look good.

When I re did the Gas Station in 2002 I used stainless Island protectors and Stainless Islands due to past experience with painting. It was worth the extra $ but they show scrapes.

I'd want a brushed finish which I could just go over with a strip of emery cloth to clean and remove scratches.

I bought the IdealShield as well. Color Red. Only 2 years old but still looks like new. They have two different kinds as far as thickness. One is cheaper and only 1/8" wall. I got the heavier wall which is 1/4". I recommend the heavier wall tubing, especially if you have much overhang from the existing bollard.
