Pdq m5

We have a site with two M5’s and a site with two 4000’s that we bought 3 years ago. I spend more time at the site with the 4000’s and am therefore more familiar with them. I like the M5 but they are much more complicated and finicky than the 4000. You’ll have more programming options with the M5, Internet access etc.

With our packages we will wash 13/14 an hour per machine. Is there something specific you wanted to know about them?

I just saw that CarWashConsignment had two refurbed M5’s for sale is that looked brand new.
 
If you are washing 14 cph you are kicking A$$ !! That would have to be about 3:45 / wash! If you get clean & dry cars like that, I am VERY impressed!

Heck, I'd think some bill jams, rejected cards, customer ignorance, etc... would ruin me tryin to get 14cph! ha
 
It depends on the wash mix. Typically 50% buy our top wash in which case we’ll run 13cph all day long. On a 300+ car days they’ll be a few hours where we run 14, assuming those hours there are less top washes bought. Keep in mind our bays are long enough to be loading the next customer as the previous one is drying, that helps.
 
300 cpd I'd think could only be achieved w/ 2 IBAs or a tunnel. Even with 13 cph, you fall short by about 25 czars, (or 2 more hours needed).
My worst fear if I was you: A tunnel going in somewhere closeby
 
Sooner, you must have missed the part where I said it’s a two bay site. Even though we’re open 24 hrs, you’re only busy from 7am to 11pm. On those crazy days you wash a few overnight but not many. 400 cars a day is very doable with two machines.
There was another thread that talked about top packages and throughput. We used to be able to wash 300/day at a single Oasis Typhoon location. We no longer are able to do that because our packages have grown in price and length. Always something to consider.
 
yep, missed that part. Why do you not have your Typhoon anymore? 300cpd with that would be awesome!!

You ever worry about a tunnel going in nearby?
 
We still have it.

I’m not sure where you’re located but we’re in the snow/salt belt. There are only a handful of those perfect wash days a year and you can’t run your operation based solely on those days. That’s why we’ve added high end packages which have increased our average ticket all year round but still allow good throughput for those handful of days.

There has always been a tunnel within 2 miles of us. About 8 years ago another single bay automatic opened up within 1 mile of us and took a piece of the pie. Competition is always a concern.
 
I have 2 (had 3) for 10 years and they have held up pretty well. With little work you can keep them looking new. SS frame work and rails are big plus. Really not that tough to work on. Easy to program and update. Some parts can be a little expensive.
