PDQ M5 email paging system

My M5’s, multiple sites stop paging and reporting on Saturday. I used Gmail and now PDQ is saying only Yahoo will work. Has anyone found a paid service that will send these alerts out? PDQ is saying it is because:

Gmail stopped using older security protocols that are used on the M5 Windows CE 5.o.


We cant do anything right now as Microsoft stopped supporting CE 5.0 several years ago





We have found that yahoo still works for now. See below. You will have to create an yahoo account. We have had some success with yahoo.





For Yahoo.com:





• SMTP Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com


• Ports: 465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS)


• Encryption: SSL or TLS


• Authentication: Required. Use your full Yahoo email address and an app-generated password (if needed).


• App Passwords: For 2FA enabled accounts, you'll need to generate a unique app password within your Yahoo account settings to allow third-party email clients to send emails.

I don’t have m5s anymore, but Gmail with app passwords does still work with 360 plus machines

Thanks Bosswash. It appears the 360 was made with a new titans windows 6.0 boards vs viper 5.0. So Microsoft still supports the 6.0 version. I am trying to get yahoo working now. Hamilton Dan alerts are also not working with Gmail anymore.

I did get Yahoo to work with the Email paging system, but for how long? Anyone know of a subscription service that will keep these txt alerts coming?

We are currently battling the same thing with a brand new install on a 360+. Google failed, yahoo will not work for us. This is happening on 2 different machines in 2 totally different locations. If and when I am able to figure it out I will come back with the news. Seems like its a pain in the butt for everyone.

Well this week Yahoo stopped working, same issue. If anyone found another way to send emails from the viper M5 please let me know.

Don't know much about it, but would it work with your own email with another provider? Ie xxxxx@jsobi.com or something like that?

It needs to work a special way with a certain port open! I am hoping to find a paid service to complete these alerts.

I got mine working using the mailing system with my website that is hosted on hostgator.

I dont know about the m5 and emails and i am not tech savvy. I did use a service called pagers direct to get messages on my phone from my laserwash 4000's. You might give them a call. i thought they were pretty sharp about that kinda stuff. They may have something to offer as a paid service

Thanks for your advice. We still have 4k and use American messaging for that. We just got the M5 working with mailgun.com. We shall see how it works long term.

Can you give a brief explanation of how you set it up with mailgun. I signed up and entered the login and password into the laser email but can't get it to work.
