OSHA - wheel cleaners

Has any of you dealt with your state's OSHA coming into your wash (conveyor) and tell you your wheel cleaner (manual application) is too high pH? They still have not let us know the level that they would approve. Last time we had a similar issue and they told me that they wanted to see a level of 7pH. We all know at this level, the product will not work. Please let me know of your personal experiences.

Thanks,

Steve

Years ago we applied wheel cleaning solutions in the prep area. While maybe not as effective you may want to consider an on-line approach. We are getting better results now with The Cobra heated (140 degrees) wheel cleaning applicator, compared to cooler applications, using an alkaline cleaning solution and blasting off with a following wheel blaster. There are plenty of manufactures that offer methods to clean wheels. Take a ride and check them out. It is a much safer way to clean.
