Opinions on General pumps vs 310 cat pump

Sounds like your owner has strong opinions that not everyone here will agree with. Again, I'm running 20 year old pumps with pump gauge pressures of 1200-1400 to get 1000 psi at the tip. I've had one bearing failure out of nine pumps in twenty years. personally I'd find the source of premature pump failure and let her ride. There is a reason that Cat probably has 80% of the car wash market. But if he insists on swapping to general, have at it. No car wash quality is judged by pump brand. Way too much other stuff to worry about

Right, the owner likes to run 800 psi, with a 2507 or 2508 jet, the pressure is decent. I would be willing to try a smaller jet if it has more impact. He says running any higher pressure the bearings wear out inside the pump quicker. (310 catpump) I personally dont know. Ive only worked here for about a year and a half, prior to this i knew literally nothing about car washes. Ive learned a ton of shit in the time ive been here, and continue to learn.

I 2507 or 2508 uses to much water. A 1505 uses about 3 gallons a minute. I run my pumps at 1400 psi, I've never lost a bearing yet. My Cat 310 pumps are 43 years old and still running strong
