Old Super Wash

OurTown - I take it the Autec is working well for you. I am considering an IBA and open to anything in the early stages of my research.

Overall yes. I think they are well-built and easy to work on. There are a lot of bearings to grease (36). It cleans really well, even though it has mitters instead of the top brush. One thing that I think needs to be changed is being able to adjust the arm air pressures for both forward and reverse passes. You can adjust each arm, but the brushes lay heavier on one direction than the other. We always seem to be messing with those air pressures to try for the best compromise. I could go on and on about what we love and hate about it, but it is too much to write here. If you want, message me and I'll give you my phone number.

Do you find customers have dramas negotiating their way through the in bay express? I.e. too fast, too slow, complaints about cars not rinsed properly etc?

I guess it's area specific but I sat and watched an unattended conveyor here in Australia for a while and more people probably had dramas loading than loaded easily so would be interested in any feedback on this concept

We had issues initially with some people backing out before they got to the treadle. We have modified the Floyd Bell voice, and that has pretty much eliminated that issue. We get new customers every day, and 90% navigate it good enough to get a good wash. The next time they go through, 99% get it timed really well. We have adjusted some things to compensate for the variance in car speed, and that has helped. We use more chemicals, water, and electric because of that but customers get a better wash. All car wash concepts have their compromises, and that is the compromise of this one. It does have the capability of 30 cars an hour though. I know of four of these that wash 50K-70K cars per year.
