The new magikist coin acceptor has a glitch that I found after a few days of operation. It's the new cp990 that has been out for a little while. If a customer inserts their coin fast, the acceptor won't accept them. The customer then gets more excited and puts the coin in even faster, making the situation even worse. The previous cp900's don't have this problem. I contacted magikist about this and their response was " put signs up to insert coins slowly". Every operator that deals with the public know that people don't read signs! Anyway, I thought I should let Canadian operators know what's happening if a customer says the acceptor keeps rejecting their coins.

It always amazes me how some people think they have to "throw" coins down the chute as hard as they can. "Insert coins slowly" doesn't work because they think they have to wait longer between each coin that they still throw in. Maybe a sign that says to drop coins in would help.
