I have no problem with it. I was referring to the perceived fear of abuse from some. I'm in an affluent area, with the highest prices around and washing 60k cars a year. Going memberships and unlimited turned my site into a top site.

The whole model is based off the assumption that the monthly price is a multiple of the single wash price on a average.

Kind off like going to the buffet. Some are going to cost the place money, and some will eat a plate.

Go to Carwash Con East in October (first week-formerly NRCC) and check out the various washing machines on display. Petits look nice but are expensive. Kick the tires on a few options (I tend to lean towards WW). Make certain you have tall ceilings in all the bays (IBA and SS) so you can wash the tallest vehicle possible. If you have a stainless steel option definitely pay for that option.

The Amazon delivery people and larger vehicles keep them clean and spend $$ in the SS bays.

Ha! That would be a heck of a yearly loss if a $1mil build is break even in my market! But I agree, the spot is nice!

40 is already 2 bays. 3 mins per wash = 20 washes per hour per bay. And with inattentive drivers and drive in and drive out time, it'll most likely be less than 20 per hour

Depending on bay length, queded stacking and wash packages, Petit's roultinely preform at 29 cars an hour and I visted sites that washed well over 8000 cars out of one bay in one month unattended.

A 2 minute wash may work up north, but it won't work in the south where dwell time is required to clean effectively

Wont work out west either. I need at least 20, but 30 sec of dwell is optimal.

Besides dwell time for helping presoaks the customer perception is an important consideration.

We have found little difference between a 10 sec and a 30 sec dwell time. The more important factor is the rinse speed (at least in mid Atlantic region for my washes). We have slowed down rinse times significantly after presoak passes. Makes a big improvement. Uses more water but worthwhile for the outcome.
