Neighborhood car wash business

Well, picking out the soap is one of the most important first steps to starting a new car wash business. Make sure it smells good.

Here’s what you need a for a neighborhood car wash. A commercial grade ¾” garden hose, at least 100’ long. 4 good quality wash mitts, 4 - 5gallons buckets from Home Depot, A case of AJAX dish washing soap 15 oz lemon scented from Dollar Tree should be fine, 2 dozen bath towels from Costco or just use the ones from your bathroom. This is the tricky part, your going to need a place to set up your neighborhood car wash any vacant lot with water will work or you could advertise on the local Facebook page and go around washing cars in -your customer driveways.

I expect crabby responses from Randy but when you get a negative comment from Wax-dude I get concerned.
You could have just used the classic “if you want to make a million dollars in the Carwash business, just start with 2 million dollars.”

CWfanatic There are several YouTube channels that focus on mobile detailing. One good channel is detail groove, especially his older content. Wilson auto detailing is a decent one too. Both these started with basic equipment. Many YouTube detailing channels are mainly just content creators and the processes they demonstrate are slow and wouldn't be very profitable in a new business. In the beginning it probably would be best to stick the basics of washing, interior cleaning, and paint protection using spray or liquid waxes. You can add mild pant correction with a random orbital polisher after some practice on your family's vehicles.

There are so many product brands it can get confusing, but Meguiars has a decent overall line of products. Autogeek is a good online source of products for small detailers.
