Nayax to SlugBuster

I just purchased 4 Nayax readers for my older wash. I don't have timers at the meter boxes, old Coleman units with SlugBuster 55 series coupled to GinSan 402 timer. Couple questions for all you professionals:

1. Is the installation that simple? Both red from Nayax to Yellow, both black from Nayax to Black and trigger from Nayax (dark green) to blue wire on Slugbuster? In count up mode does it just keep pulsing the blue wire on the Slugbuster to keep it going until customer pushes the stop button?

2. I know its been discussed, but count up or count down?

3. Any back door or strange programming for the Nayax units that's recommended during installation?

Thank you very much!!!

No…in your case, not that simple.

While Nayax can be powered with the car wash’s 24 volts AC transformer, it Outputs 5 volts DC.

You’ll need a 3-32vdc solid state relay or a 5vdc one channel optocoupler to interface the Nayax.

For Countup operation, the Nayax will act as the timer and can power your meterbox’s selector switch with a constant 24v.

For Countdown operation, the Nayax will send pulses to the Ginsan timer via the SSR/optocoupler. However, customers cannot add time to the wash cycle in this mode.

Optionally, Multi-price mode allows you to program up to 6 time/price selections. The customer picks their desired price, presents their card and the Nayax will function as countup or countdown…again dependent on how your wire the output relay/optocoupler.

Here's a basic optocoupler wiring diagram. Your wire colors are different...My Orange is your yellow...My Green is your Black.

Fatboy769, thank you very much!! I ordered the relays from the link and they are supposed to come in today. Once I get my hands on them I will let you know. I have been busy on other stuff since posting but might need a little more clarification on the wiring. Just talk to me like a child!!!
