Well I got all set up and for some reason I cant turn the volume up very high? I have a powerful receiver with the switching relay from radio shack and the 3 set of speakers from Best Buy and not much sound!

What am I missing?

If it is a home theater reciever, it may have many different settings like 5.1 surround sound, 5 channel stereo, etc. etc. You do not want a surround setting find a direct or stereo setting.

The speaker out is probably 8 ohms, you can not put mult speakers on that out, as that lowers the ohms and you can blow the output stage of the amp.
