Multiple low pressure functions from same gun?

Are any of you guys using a foam gun for multiple LP functions? Like presoak, tire cleaner, rain x, triple foam, etc? Any issues running different functions from same gun? I do not like the performance of low pressure applications from the wand.

If your setup allows it, try increasing the pressure. I like to run the tire cleaner at about 60 PSI so it reaches the gun fast and foams real well to stick to the tires, the presoak at 80-100 so it will cover a car quickly.

This is exactly what we want to do too. I was under the impression that the real difference is the restriction in the tiny tip in the wand compared to the large tip in a foam gun.

I have never run anything but tri-foam in one so I have no experience with changeover time, issues with chemical compatibility, or whatever. I imagine the chngeover would be faster as it seems to move more volume in a given amount of time due to less restriction.

I run JBS Glow Foam Polish thru my triple foam gun. I don’t see a problem running Rain- X from the same gun. Similar products.
But I would not think it would be a good idea to run presoak or tire cleaner from the same gun. Maybe 2 separate guns.
Having PS/TC coming out on a customers car for 10-15 seconds it takes for change over would not be good.

I agree but it happens with the wand as well. Is it just that it would be the wrong spot in the cycle of functions? It seems most customers don't understand how to properly wash their cars as it is.

Change over on foam gun is A LOT slower than the high pressure gun.
Usually the customer uses Rinse to remove the soap on the car. Then they turn to high pressure Wax.

I run PS and TF on a foam gun. Customers love it and so do I. It's easier to dial in the tip size and "can" eliminate most cv's in the attic. I only have 4 cv's in the attic now for sfr on the high pressure guns. 4 bay.

Tee the chemicals above the bay and you won't have change over time issues. I also do a 2 second 60 psi air purge before the chemical switches over. I don't see the delays some of you are talking about. Ps runs at 60 psi....tf runs at 75 psi. With a 40-40 tip, it doesn't take long to run 20 feet. Maybe just 2-3 seconds. I wouldn't think you'd see any differences between running 2 chemicals v/s 4. Btw, I tee all air lines inside the er and only send one air line out to each bay. Saves on space in the trough and saves tubing .
