Monorail vac replacement parts?

Does anyone know where to find replacement parts for older monorail self serve vacs? I have a number of them which are still in great working order and visually pleasing, but am having difficulty finding certain parts for them. In particular I've been having issues where the connection piece that the hose connects to the vac rots out and breaks. In the past I've cannibalized the parts from decommissioned vacs, but I've run out of this particular part.

I'd hate to have to replace these work horses.

Thanks in advance for any information anyone might have.

I've modified vacs by taking a vac hose coupler, shaving the threads off the inside on one end and clamping it over the existing tube. Assuming that fitting in your picture has an I.D. for a vac hose to fit inside snug, it should work.

I used a swivel reducer there, but a plain coupler should fit the same.

That may very well be exactly the trick I need. At the very least it will keep the vacs in service until I kind find the replacement part, or the existing rotted metal crumbles the rest of the way. Thank you.

Thats a really interesting concept Earl. I'd be hesitant to attach it to my already rotting nipple, but I may try a couple of those out as a general vac upgrade. I appreciate the tip!

We scraped about 27 of those G2 vac’s awhile back. If I remember right Monorail used a carbon steel nipple in there G2 vac. You’ve got a couple of options, find a piece of stainless steel tubing with an ID that is the OD of the vac hose and weld that into the vac, or go to a muffler shop and have them bump out a piece of exhaust pipe to the OD diameter of your vac hose.

I kind of agree with Randy, BUT< I would recommend getting stainless pipe and get a local welder cut out the old and weld a new stainless nipple in place. I would bet you have a few welders that use your facility!! I also just replaced 8 of those vacs.

pgrzes,

as a matter of fact I do have some welders who come through on a regular basis, that's a good idea...I generally prefer paying people in car washes than cash, and I am incapable of making a weld that lasts more than a few days. That seems like a good semi-permanent fix. Thanks.
