MEI in bay bill acceptor

My configuration consist of Coin acceptor and Bill acceptor then of course the 1034R nonswipe timer.
Bill acceptor has harness plug which has a total of 7 wires. 3 of those are not used (blue,green,red).
White ->bundles to sensortron white wire which leads to #9 slot on the timer
Orange & Black (2 wires) -> bundles together to black wire of sensortron which leads to #10 slot on the timer
Tan -> bundles to orange with black stripes of the sensortron that leads to #2 slot on timer.
There is nothing between the sensortron, bill acceptor and timer. Given you stated that you swap bill acceptor and timer, the question is did you change the harness on the bill acceptor AND the harness on the timer also?
I just installed an Led6s timer today in one of my trouble vacs to see if the theory Randy posted might fix this unexplainable issue. The led6s does have a separate input for the bill validator and accepts the pulses a different way, so hopefully it will work. So far after 3 hours it was still working. I'll check again tomorrow and go from there.
Jim, I wasn’t going to mention using a diode in line. I would still replace the Coleman 1034R timer with a Dixmor LED-6S, there a much better timer. The 1034R timer has a vacuum fluorescent display that you can’t hardly see in the sunlight.
On a Mars validator 24 volt timer wiring it’s like this:
Pin #5 is 24 volts Hot or Black on the plug – Connects to 24 Volt Hot
Pin #6 is 24 volts Neutral White on plug - Connects to Common
Pin #7 is Credit Relay (N.O) Orange wire on plug – Connects to Coin Pulse or Coin Signal
Pin #8 is Credit Relay (Comm) Brown wire on plug – Common Connects to coin Common or common
On a Mars validator 24 volt timer wiring it’s like this:

I am still trying to wrap my head around this but I appreciate all the feedback so far.
3 days so far and my Led6S is working great. Bill acceptor is taking $'s and giving credit. It it keeps working for one week, I'll do my other vacuum. That one is a swipe n clean, so I'll have to just convert it to a non snc vac. You do have to buy a new timer mount in order for it work though as the led6s is slightly wider. I just wish I hadn't bought extra 1034R timers in the past or even sent them off for repair as the Led6s display just blows them out of the water.

I was able to use the same exact harness and they both plug right in. The 8 pin you just plug in and your done. On the 10 pin, I took the purple wire from pin 1 (unused) and just plugged it into pin 7 on the harness and attached that to the bill acceptor. There is a yellow wire that jumps between pin 7 and 8 on the JC timer, so I removed the part that was in pin 7. The yellow wire is still in pin 8 and now I have that wire that I can use for a cc input if needed. Let me know if that makes sense.
I want to add that when I first installed the LED6S timer, it wasn't working with the coin acceptor. When a coin was put in, the display on the timer just said "coin". I called Dixmor and they said that the word "coin" showed up when it took too long to get the coin pulse. They said that sensatrons were notorious for that and that it meant my coin acceptor was getting old and sending a weak signal. I swapped it with a new one and it worked perfectly. I am wondering now if the weak sensatron could have been the issue all along.... If you have a spare coin acceptor, maybe try replacing that first to see if it fixes the issue before installing a new timer.
I just dropped into this post. Are these doable on coleman combo vacs??? I really dont like the coleman timers, I have dixmore's in my bays and would love to only have 1 type to deal with. Randy can you help to know if this is possible to do on my combo vacs?? A wiring schematic would be nice to see on here.

I have one Coleman combo and installed a Dixmor. IIRC, the door bracket was different, but other than that I think it was plug-n-play. I got it from Randy. Make sure you tell him the application to be sure to get the bracket/shelf thingy.
Just like I.B said, it is plug and play unless your are adding a bill acceptor or cc. For those, the Dixmor has separate inputs for them and the bill acceptor wires up slightly different. If you are adding a bill acceptor, just run the coin pulse to pin 7 on the timer, then instead of having the orange wire go with the black, you send it to white as a neutral instead. You also need to change the shelf as it is slightly wider.
pgrzes, it's a piece of cake. Get rid of that piece of crap 1034R timer and use a Dixmor LED-6S timer. If you have any questions send me a PM or call.
