Macneil Wheel Boss Shaft

Noticed the Wheel Boss brush drivers side looked like the shaft had a lot of end play, making noise. First thought was bearing, but after looking we found the hub was loose on the extruded aluminum shaft. After removing the pillow block bearing and the hub, we saw the damage to the shaft. We were able to cut the shaft about 1" and reinstall the hub. There was enough extension on the hub to slide it in the bearing and have full coverage in the bearing.

Have any of you done this? looks like the PS side is wearing also.

Any after market shafts for the Wheel Boss?

Well I guess no one has had this issue. The fix is holding up well, with no issues. I am ordering a shaft for back up even though I am not a fan of the design. We will modify the PS side once the new shaft arrives. I will try to photo and document it this time.

Are they the newer style square shafts? I see a lot of problems with those.
Looks like no upgrade, however I did find the extruded shaft material and purchased for less than 100 each. I will send the link to you tomorrow
