LW4000 "Wash In Use" Sign issues.

Folks,

I have owned my wash for 1 1/2 years. I had a new PDQ LW4000 bridge installed when I bought it. Since then I have been plagued by this issue. Every once and a while --somtimes a month, sometimes once a week, the "Wash In Use" at the entrance of the wash sign stays on after a customer uses the wash. When the "Wash In Use" sign stays on the wash cannot be used.

I have done a lot of digging, and had many techs check this out. Lots of parts and theories thrown at this bridge. Amps, eyes, new festoon wires etc. You know the drill. What could cause this? Any help would be appreciated.

I do have a very short bay. About as short as they come. I was told the shortest bay the LW can fit in. The front tbar eyes(when in home position) are about 2 1/2 feet from the dryer eyes that are mounted on the the exit wall of the wash. Could the smallness of my bay be a contributing factor? I often get rear eye failures due to customers backing in and out during the dryer cycle. Could the "Wash In Use" sign issue be related. Just thinking out loud, so to speak.

Thanks!

You could check the loading eyes for the virtual treadle, and also check wiring in the manual joystick box.

Could the "Wash In Use" sign issue be related. Yes.

I believe it to be caused by backing up during the dryer cycle. The shortness doesnt help but probly doesnt cause a problem when they use it right.

My machine does this when a customer backs up during the dryer cycle. it will cause the rear eye fail, and Sometimes it will cause the dryers to run continuously too.

How do you reset the machine when this happens ?? I have to cycle the power on mine

I can do a manual reset on the joystick box.

I found the rear eye amp(bought new 2 weeks ago) and the rear eyes were a bit weak. Replaced both. We will see :

The wash in use is on because something in the bay is delaying the Plc from performing a complete start up test. You already know this.

100 enter 1 enter will tell you the wash status. Have you looked at that during long please wait.. Will show something like "wait wheel well" "wait eyes clear" "start up test". Should at least help narrow down issue. I'd also be looking at eye inputs and loading eye inputs, and see if any are off.

Do you just reset or wait for it cleear? Do you ever get a fault , besides rear eye fail?
