Low pressure seals

Hi Folks,
Did you ever have an issue with low pressure seal poping out after install. It for a cat pump 310 and all three of them keep doing it Previous owner had a retaining ring to keep it in place which is not recommended.

What's your incoming water pressure feeding the pumps?

I don't have a pressure gauge but water coming from a water tank

Are you putting the pump back together correctly? The seals are pretty much sandwiched in there. How exactly are they popping out?

Once the pump starts they pop out and I find them on the plunger

They are held in place with the white plastic wick holders, not understanding how they are popping out? Are you leaking low pressure water between the pump and head?

Yes after the pop out it starts leaking. The plastic wick is in there

Back in the day the low pressure seals were held in place by a snap ring on the brass seal case. They have replaced the older white plastic seal retainer with a longer white plastic retainer. What you need to do is buy new plastic seal retainers.

That's got to be it. These pumps are at least 14 years old but still kicking
