Looking for someone who is well versed in the Laserwash 4000

I’m located in Western Pa and I am having an issue with the ultrasonic system on one of my machines.

If there is a tech out there, preferably local, who can come out here and help me troubleshoot, i would greatly appreciate it.

If you think you could help me over the phone, that’s fine too.

Obviously I will pay you for your time. I’m just at the end of my rope here with this thing. I’ve been an operator for 3 years now, and I have an employee who’s been in the is business for around 40 years and neither of us can figure it out.

the system refuses to calibrate. The Ultrasonics are sending a signal to the board in the JO cabinet but the board is telling us that it’s not getting a signal.

I would also accept tips on how to eliminate the ultrasonic system completely. Right now we have it bypassed and it is running on the
flags only, and it’s leaving a strip in the middle of the cars untouched with soap because it can’t come in and hug the car.

Thanks, and have a nice weekend.

I’ve tried reaching out to my distributors and none of them are enthusiastic about working on this old machine. I plan on replacing it soon but I’m still trying to figure out how to fund it

I'm no laserwash expert, but did you try replacing the cable between the sensor and board?
Yes we've more or less repalced everything

Let me expand on that.

We're replaced:

Ultrasonic controllers (Multiple)
JVT board (multiple)
Both Ultrasonics
Festoon cables
A variety of Relays
Prox's, eyes, and cables
Cleaned off the flags in the bridge (they were a little rusty)

The issue started with the 24v fuse blowing. We tracked down a short and when we got it started back up the ultrasonics weren't working

At this point I feel like a second rate parts changer. Im working on getting better at diagnostics. But that will come with time.

I don’t know who you had but Washing Equipment Technologies used to have a branch in Pittsburgh - not sure if it’s still there or not. I’m not affiliated with them and not suggesting them - I’m just commenting on a place I know of in Western PA. Good luck to you.

Thank you.

They have been out to look at it a few times. No dice

I would suggest posting this on either of the Facebook groups called TalkCarWash In-Bay Automatic & Self-Serve or In Bay Automatic, Self-Serve & Dog Wash Group.

Just wanted to follow up on this because we finally got it figured out.

Whomever was messing with the ultrasonic wiring last plugged in the y22 jumper wire in, when it should have been disconnected. It was making the system ignore the ultrasonic sensors' inputs.
For reference, that wire should only be plugged in if you are running a machine with a physical treadle as opposed to the virtual one.
