Don't listen to that guy, I mean just look at that shoddy work.

Just kidding, that's a very good way to do it. There are a lot of Coleman washes in my area that use a trough like that, and they tend to be the only one without a lot of issues after a hard freeze.
 
Grainger will likely be the most expensive. I can find it online pretty cheap, unfortunately it'll cost a fortune to have shipped, might actually be cheaper to pick it up from Grainger. Or shop around locally, someone is bound to have it.
