Leaking SS tank

I have a stainless steel tank that has a small leak. The tank is open to atmosphere and the water is heated to about 125 degrees F. I would like to drain the tank and put some type of product on the hole that will work under water. Any one know of something that will work when exposed to water all the time. Thanks for your replys.

if the leak is in a flat part of the tank and not in a seam or corner, drill a small hole in the leak and put a stainless bolt and nut with rubber washers on each side and tighten just enough to stop the leak

Purchase some fiberglass tiger hair or fiberstrand from Napa. Mix some up following the directions and apply it to the outside of the tank. I would prep the tank before hand with a grinder or very course sand paper. I have radiator that was fixed like this over 25 years ago AND the sump in the bottom of my race cars gas tank was make leak proof the same way.

If it's in an edge seam, just use silicone. I've done it a number of times on D/H tanks - they have baffles welded into one large tank to make sections, and the welds often fail and leak. Just get it clean and dry and push it into the seam and let it cure 24 hours.
