Kleen-Rite In Bay Vending Challenge

What’s your opinion on this? They state increased revenue for a current operator, but in my opinion, this is a headache waiting to happen for little return. The worst challenge in this business is getting customers to leave the wash bay after the timer expires. This idea only promotes tying up a wash bay for extensive drying and detailing. Losing wash bay revenue and upsetting waiting customers. Not to mention, the Vend Kits cost $3 each. So a wash bay is tied up for a total profit of $2. What do you think?

I saw the add and had the same feelings. I would be more concerned with someone using the high pressure gun to soak down everything in the machine.
I have considered an air freshener vendor just outside the bay but IN the bay just seems like asking for trouble.
Remember, K-R’s job is to sell us products in the same way we try to sell anything we can to our customers. Sometimes you toss an idea out and it’s a complete disaster and sometimes it’s a home run. I predict this to be the former.

It might be an okay idea for a slow wash. We only have three bays and pretty much any decent day I have to ask someone to pull around because they are drying and someone else is waiting for a bay.

Yup, for us as well. It’s a daily struggle. Even had these custom signs designed, printed and hung on the walls and the problem stays consistent.

I’m resisting the urge to make political commentary.
I’ll keep my comments to myself but please know that the people that don’t move out for other customers make me question an individual’s ability to self govern and my own personal ideology.
Also, I feel like every post I comment on lately get derailed. My apologies.
