Keypad/Cash Drawer/Printer Issue

So I need some help in diagnosing why my cash drawer won't open automatically, and why the printer won't produce a sales ticket.

I have a DRB Tunnel Watch system with their Keypad, Cash Drawer, Receipt Printer set-up. After entering total sale, the drawer doesn't pop open, nor does the printer work. As you might be aware all those components are connected with a 6 pin modular jack, and various cords.

Thus far, we have replaced about every cord, and also the printer. We have not replaced the cash drawer to date.

Any suggestions would be great.

Everything else is working as it should?

Is there power to the cash drawer and printer?

When you find the fix let us know.
 
Assuming you are using Carwatch as well;

Go to Menu 1, select option 5 "Terminal Related Perameters"
Write down what your current settings are!
Option 4 will ask what type of printer it is (Mine is Thermal, set to "2")
Option 6 will ask what type of cash drawer you have (Mine is set to "G")

Check these are set up correctly.

Please Please Please write down the current settings before changing anything incase you need to change back.

My understanding is that the reciept printer sends the electronic pulse to the cash drawer to open it. If the reciept is not printing it will not send that pulse. It also may be relating to the position of the dip switches on the back of the printer.

If all else fails, call DRB tech support (1-330-645-3299) and they should be able to solve the problem.
