The idea of continuous improvement is an important aspect of small business and can help save money.
I look at my P&L, find the bigger expenses, and see if there are ways to trim them down.
I look at sales and see where the biggest profits are and try to maximize them.
When these are paid attention to, results flow from there. I have noticed in my own financials, the benefits of shopping around for insurance, buying in bulk, saving water/sewer and electricity.
I paid alot less attention to saving money and my financials in general during my first 10 years in business. My expansion and the subsequent poor economy have forced me to be more diligent about saving more and earning more. This has benefitted my company overall.
