Recently one of my JE Adams vac's was running and wouldnt shut off. I tripped the breaker, and reset it and it kept running. Coned it off and left it sit for a couple days (I was busy with other issues) and when I came back and reset the breaker, it didnt start running. Put coins in it and it ran for the 6mins and shut off. Did that two more times with no problems.

I'm wondering if anyone has an idea on what might have been wrong with it? It's about 6yrs old, is a standard 3 motor vac with Ginsan Multi TR coin and Mar's bill acceptor. At the time that it was malfunctioning, there were no coins jammed and the bill acceptor was working correctly.

The relay that drives the vac motors is sticking. If there isn't an external relay, then it is the one in the timer.

I assume it has the AT 411E timer - I've had them do that before and go back to working fine.

The relays are a good idea. They rarely fail, and if it does it's a lot cheaper than a new timer.
