Installation of In Bay Automatic

Can my new washworld profile max system be installed by any licensed contractor? Or does it need to be by a special team who specializes in installing car washes? I have my own crew who deal with plumbing and electric and construction and do not see the installation of this machine being to hard. I was quoted about $50k for installation which I thought was kinda high... any opinions on whether a licensed contractor and crew can install it or if the experienced car wash builder's should be installing it?
 
Installation should be one third to one half of that number. You want someone who has installed the machine a few times. While WW provides a page by page follow the instructions book for installation it will go faster and probably with fewer issues if the installation is done by a WW rep.

On the flip side your workers will get to know the machine intimately so they can help you service and repair the machine. If you have the time and people I would use my team if competent.

thank you so much for the reply! unfortunatley i live in hawaii and the only ww distributors or any car wash distributors is located on another island so they would need to fly over regardless.... if i have my team which are not car wash builders but more commercial and residetnail contractors for houses and whatnot would you let them build it instead and do you know if i do let them do it if i wil void warranty? regardless i think ill pay the distibutor to fly over and at least setup the machine such as programming and such but the actual labor i think i would like my team to do it
 
I 100 percent agree w Roz. You need someone who has put there hands on the machine. It seems like always some hang up or tricks that these guys know.
 
I doubt you affect the warrantee but good question to ask WW. The real question is if the guys pay attention to details and label ALL the wires. Not like a house where you can make a few mistakes and most will not be noticed or affect the final outcome of the house. And there are a lot of wires in the control cabinet. Installation often will take an experienced rep 2-3 weeks.

Lastly no two distributors are the same in terms of quality of their installation or the cost to install. If you were not on an island you might have the ability to get more than one quote. On the flip side maybe you find a WW rep who will make a competitive price as they want to visit the aloha island.

That’s up for debate because it looks like you are only accessible by a flight. Agreed $50k is high. But then again you might be in more than that if your guys get “stuck”.

thank you so much for the opinion! you definitely got a point! also we do have a WW here in Hawaii and that is who I have been talking to but they are on another island and who gave me a quote of the $50k for install. Also for a WW Profile Max it says the minimum length is 37 feet 4 inches but my bay im looking to renovate to put the new WW Profile max (has an old in bay automatic in it right now that does not operate) the length is only 34 feet but the height and width meets the minimum requirements. Do you think itll still fit in the bay regardless that the length is about 3 feet shorter?

Pay my flight for me and the wife, put us up for bout 2 weeks, give me some per diem, a helicopter tour and a few bonfires, with beverages and I'll install for free!

That is quite a bit shorter than minimal. I am not sure what kind of vehicles you have in that area but you will have a hard time washing longer trucks. The Rails the machine travels on are 34 feet and do not offer a smaller size rail. This would be a rather difficult install for that short of a bay. The LXR would be a good fit in that wash bay.

thank you for your reply! do you know if there are any major differenfes between the LXR and Profile Max? And also here we do have some pretty big trucks such as tundras and f150s and f250s... think the lxr can wash those big of cars?
 
That's no problem at all. Happy to help.

The LXR is more less designed for the shorter bays. There is however some differences. Foam N' Flow is not an option and neither is the Power wheel Detailer but you can have Tri Color Foam, spectra Ray+, Big Shot, and chem alert. There is a few other small differences with the LXR but from a function standpoint it works just like the Profile Max does. The LXR in your size bay will wash crew cab trucks no problem and the height is 7'6" so the taller 3/4-1 ton pickups will work just fine.
