In floor radiant heat. How to find control room inlet?NEed help

Hi All,

I need some help with this question.

Purchased old 6 bay SS with 2 IBA and central control room. By 2 of each bays from the control room there are external manifolds with
Bay 1/2 (7 heater loops, 2 manifolds with feed/return)

Bay 3 (4 heater loops, 2 manifolds with feed/return)

Bay 4 (4 heater loops, 2 manifolds with feed/return

Bay 5/6 (7 heater loops, 2 manifolds with feed/return

Inside control room (5 heater loops, 2 manifolds next to IBA wall. - pics included

My question is where are the external manifold pipes coming into the control room? I cannot see anything from the floor that looks like galvanized pipe size as the manifolds??

The boiler has 2 feeds and 2 returns that are the same diameter of the pipe. Wash is abandoned and put of service

It’s going to be 2” copper stubbed up somewhere. Possibly cut off at floor height and covered in debris.
Hopefully the tubing under the slab is not damaged. I doubt the boiler and pumps can be salvaged/reused. The good news is that a new system will be significantly more efficient than the old system.
Best bet would be to call a plumber to get a quote to fix this system. They’ll have to locate the inlet/outlets for the quote anyway.
Alternatively, you could ask a Carwash equipment company to come take a look at your equipment and they should be knowledgeable enough to ID the pipes.

So are the manifolds and pipe copper then? Probably explains why it’s all cut up because scrappers have been through here multiple times.

How would a plumber reattach them to the existing system if the copper pipe is cutoff at the floor? Also will it be one main 2” inlet and outlet or like 8 ( 4 for each bay sides)?

The concrete will need to be chipped up around the pipe down far enough to connect to it.

Typically just a single supply and return in 2” for the whole Carwash. Newer systems will have multiple zones with a pump for each zone.
