IDX credit card readers

I have been following the discussion on credit card options as to washgear & cryptopay equipment. Anybody tried IDX credit card readers.Recently bought a wash in a rural town with no other competition and looking to do upgrades. Checked with the local telephone - electric coop on install and monthly fees.As there is no wifi service at wash it would be a new install and $100 a month service fee.The only cell service that is reliable here is Verizon ,would Idx be a viable option ?

Frankly, I wouldn't consider them for anything. Haven't you noticed that every time coin acceptors get brought up that the consensus is pretty much that the quality has gone in the crapper and their service is horrible to non-existant?

We talked to IDX about repairing a timer a few months ago and they told us about their credit card system. It sounds good with low fees but I just can't get it out of my mind about all the negativity on here about the company in general. It's too bad because they have some other devices we would consider. IDX?......Hello?.....Are you reading this?.....

I friend of mine with a wash not far from me purchased IDX CC system same time I put Cryptopay in. That was about 5 1/2 years ago. He wishes he followed me with Cryptopay!! He has had nothing but problems with them, he has had numerous units break, very intermittent service, had to rewire his automatics due to interference from the vfds and continual issues with IDX themselves with customer service. He wants to throw it all in trash but cant swallow what he allready paid for the system. I have IDX coin acceptors, all of the units older then 3 or 4 years are good, anything newer then that are absolute junk, they know it and blame it all on their vendors, dont want to stand behind anything and their turn around time is insane(2-3 months) to replace brand new units. BUYER BEWARE!!

It's coming up on three weeks since we sent in two Cryptopay swipers under warranty and have not heard a peep. The only real issues we have with Cryptopay is that they still don't have gift cards and the swipers do not work as good as most. Almost none of my credit or debit cards work very well with our swipers but work at almost everywhere else. Sometimes we have a customer that complains about the same issue. We clean them weekly so I don't think they are dirty. The reason for the swipers being in warranty repair is for a strange intermittent issue in that it starts the bay immediately after swiping and then shuts it down after a few seconds. Once we noticed it charged the card the minimum.

I had this long post ready to post about what I think of “IDX” but decided to not post it at the last minute. You have other options. You can install a Nayax or USA Technologies card reader system on the front of your bill changer, you can also install the Nayax or USA Technologies card reader system on you coin box if you have a large enough coin box for all the hardware.

The Nayax credit card system uses Verizon as their cell connection so that might be the way to go for you. We use Nayax on our vending machines to sell locks at some self storage facilities and those locations are typically rural and it has worked about pretty good.

I will look in to the Nayax card system and USA Tech .Until now never heard of the them ,but i still use a flip phone,LOL. Lots of feed back that I was looking for. Thank-you to all
