Ideas on moving coleman pumping plant

I'm faced with the task of moving a coleman supersaver pumping plant from one car wash to another. If anybody has ever moved one of these, I would appreciate any ideas or concerns. Of course I have my own ideas, but perhaps somebody has a better idea on how to move this large plant. BTW it is almost
14.5 feet long. Thanks for the help.
 
One of the best ways I have used to move a large pumping plant is to hire a long flat bed tow truck. The kind of tow truck that you load the whole car on. The bed will drop down and tilt so that the plant can be winched up and rolled onto the truck and the rolled off when it is relocated. I have also used this method to unload new units off the back of a semi trailer.
 
The roll back wrecker is an option. Or, rent a forklift so you can set it on a flat bed. Shouldn't be too difficult. Good luck.
 
Can I ask what the outcome was with this move? I am looking at the possibility of moving a rack that same size. I am thinking I have a 28' enclosed trailer with a winch. I will put rack on 3-4 wheel utility dollies, and winch up the ramp into the trailer. I think Coleman says that rack is only around 16-1,800 lbs.

That's how JCC delivers from the factory. They use "skates" to roll off the truck and into position. Piece of Cake!!!
 
Why Coleman built this still amazes me. Plain Texas stupid. The solution is simple. Get a small grinder with a cutting wheel and cut the bast@@d up into easier handling pieces. Just because comeone in a distant place made a dumd decision is no reason to perpetuate it. You can thank me after doing this.

Do you also remove your old tires with a sawzall when you replace them?

It's not bad at all. I've moved or installed half a dozen and prefer it over a separate components. Coleman pushes it off the truck on dollies and it's put into place by three guys-two if they know what they're doing. Once it's there in place, it's done-

It's an easy install for the trades, too. There's one cold, one hot, and one soft (for RO) connect point for the plumber. It's also quick and easy for the electrician. If you know what you are doing you can stub the electrical up for a very neat install on new construction.

I will say the pump unit is pretty, but not very service friendly as a component type system.
 
It's all a matter of opinion. The factory guys have the specific dollies and are prepped to move it as one unit. Plus they have done it before. But the average guy out there with a friends borrowed trailer and two fishing buddies are another story. And why I never thought about using my Sawzall for tires was a great insight.n I'll let you know how that works out.
