I use the car type lamps for stop, enter, backup on my IBA.

The Stop light started blowing every once in awhile and now is blowing daily.

It really blows the bulb apart.

Trouble is I can't test the voltage at the wire because I need to start a wash to trigger the stop light and the gantry door/spray bar are in the way because of the proxes that need to be lit for the machine to say 'stop'.

Any ideas? Try replacing the cable end? Water getting in? Vibration? It just hates me???

You should have an output on the PLC that you can jumper to turn the Stop light so you don't have to turn on the wash to check the voltage at the light.

My first guess would be that the bulb is getting wet. The indicator should be the glass turning an opaque blue color.

The bulb breaks all apart when it happens and the base glass that is left is a tan-ish color.
