Hydrominder #53 for mixing Winter Soap

Hello - Pray for sun in the East - Getting killed here with all the rain.

Getting ready for the winter - Have been mixing soap with methanol the past few years - in a way time consuming and a pain. Thinking of mixing my HP soap product with my methanol through a #532 duel eductor Hydrominder - Dont want to change tips will keep the mix constant - Has anyone had success with this.. Worried about air and mix issues - Also - any recommendations as to what is best to do.

I really wish there was someway to automatically change tip variation based on outside temperature to the dixmore.. Now wouldnt that be neat.

Leave the same tip in as you are currently using for foamy brush. Use a black, beige, or red tip on your methanol depending on what temperature you want to keep it from freezing. You don't need to change anything else. What you are doing is adding methanol to your foamy brush mixture. In order to get enough in the mix is why you have to use a large hole tip. I have found, by my own test that the red tip for methanol seems to work down to about 20 to 25 degrees. Most people don't wash if it gets much colder than that. You may need to try different tips for your own wash. I have not changed my air or liquid adjustments when adding the methanol.

Thanks all - actually I meant Foam brush soap.. sorry for the confusion. I mix the meth. in for winter purge... it worked like a charm.. actually think I over thought it.

I tipped down the hydrominder according to outside temp.. I probably could have gotten away with beige for the year. Red tipped most of the winter so far.... Only complaint I have is the small push in's what a pain in the A**... I will call Hydrominder to see if I can convert them to regular tips..

What would be even cooler is if we could come up with a (3) way valve to work off a Dixmore output to turn and purge based on outside temperature... Red / Beige / Black...any inventors out there???

So…the "temp controlled mixture" is made only when the solution tank fills. If nobody uses the foam brush, the mixture would remain the same…wouldn't it?

Ok here is the deal.. I have my foam bruch ties into my dixmore weep mizer...output 2 weeps are on output one...by the way.. the dixmore weep mizer has to be one of the greatest inventions ever....great product!

What I have done in the past is mixed the methanol soap for my winter brush...percentage of standard foam brush soap to a drum of methanol... This of course takes time...and all of us can use more of this...

So this past year I decided to go with mixing the foam brush soap and methanol directly at the hydro minder or mixing tank prior to it going in the line..vs pre- mixing...this was huge this year..worked very well...

The only thing I dislike is the hydro minder push tips...these for the lack do a better word...SUCK!!

I am hoping to convert the hydro minder fittings this year just to my standard 511 tips. This will help out a lot during changeout.

Now here is the issue::

In prefixing the drum ... Red tip gets me down to about 23 deg f... Beige tip gets me down to about 15 deg. F... And black tip gets me down to about 5 deg f. Anything below that is wide open... This is for the premix

Now... I ran the meth. Strait in with the soap at the point of use... So in using the same color tips .. I really put more meth into the soap than I needed for the temperature variance as described above. This is a good thing.. Gave me a lot of breathing room this year.. No feeze ups.. Granted the northeast has been ridiculously warm this year.

My kind drum happens to be with the tip changes... What if we added a third output to the dixmore with a 3 /4 way Solonoid that would rotate and purge based on the varying degrees.. Eliminating tip changes... I know it is pie in the sky..but wouldn't it be lovely....

I few years ago I make an automatic change over system using a Dixmor Weepmizer, a timed relay and 3 solenoid valves, 1 – Normally open and 2 – Normally closed. When the temperature dropped to below 34 degrees the Weepmizer powers up the 2 – Normally closed solenoid valves, closed the Normally open solenoid valve, powered up the timed relay opened the which allowed the foam brush system to purge with anti-freeze foam brush soap after the purge the Foam brush system would be on anti-freeze foam brush soap.
