How many still at a $10 preauthorization?

I know this has been discussed before but how many are still at a $10 preauthorization? I’ve upped prices every year but think it is time to up my preauthorization from $10 to $20.

Anyone do this without any/much customer push back?

Most of our customers have the pre-Auth set to the max charge setting. This is usually around $20. Don’t hear too many complaints.

I lowered mine on SS to $3 and it eliminated a lot of complaints. Never had a chargeback or issue with it.

I put mine at 10.01 hopefully to bounce $10 gift cards but the card company authorized it anyway and then I got charge backed . Move my cryptopay re authorization window to 16 minutes instead of two hours and am thinking about moving pre auth to $11.

WAIT, we can change the pre-authorization window? Does that mean the charges appear on the portal quicker too?

We are at $5 for pre-auth and I am surprised how many people have more than $4 in their account but less than $5. They can't figure out why the bay won't start that has a $4 start price. Maybe they are those reloadable gift cards, but if it is their bank account then why are they washing their car?

Mine has been $15.01 for years, but I'm about to change to $20. Still get tons of calls about the $15, but mostly because of the vacs.
