Can anyone tell me what this is? Is it a re-worked MX-8? It has worked for years, but I'm wanting to clean everything up. PXL_20210309_172106622.jpg

It's just relays, kind of looks like old Fragramatics relays with a resistor or varistor to help keep the relays from burning up from a high startup load or inductive current. I've done the same thing with relays, just a lot neater looking.

Yes, a MX-8 will work in your application
Thanks...I know I must seem like such a newb...I've had it for 15 years and I'm running out of excuses. This group has been invaluable though...and I appreciate you all

The only difference between using relays or an MX-8 is that you get a 2-second delay on with an MX-8.

You can also use "delay on" relays if that's what you're after.

IDX also makes a MX-9 with no time delay and a MX-10 with a 1 second On/off delay.

Have you found one that isn't expensive?
These are reasonable if you don't mind waiting a few weeks to get them from China...Omron H3Y-2 off Ebay...They come in many different time values. I get the 0-3 second ones and set all LP (chemical side only) to 2 seconds delay. Mostly for winter use to keep from winterizing a hose when someone just clicks through a selection. I have got them for between $4 and $5 each including the base and have only had a few fail in 5-6 years.
