High Pressure Swivels

Thinking about adding additional swivels to my HP hose lines - 3/8" and 3/4" - Does anyone have recommendations here.. ones that last and wont leak? Thinking of putting on both ends.. Gun end as well as boom end.. What are your thoughts?
 
I've gone through some trial and error regarding this. Have tried Fluid Controls, Spraying Systems, Suttner, Mosmatic and some others. Endrf up going with Mosmatic and am happy almost two years later. I found that putting new/good swivels at the boom and gun ends makes moving around the car easier.

A nice thing about mosmatic is they seem to have a swivel for every situation. Nice not to have to use a bushing or adapter as you would with other brands that don't have as many options.
 
I've found adding a Fluid Controls Ball Bearing swivel about 12" down from the boom works well. Customers don't fight the 3/8" hose any more...The standard SS swivels I use at the boom and gun tend to seize up under pressure and don't swivel as easily as the BB Fluid Controls.

FWIW I prefer Adams 7080 swivel at the gun. It's the same swivel as the first one 2Biz linked but in brass. It's rebuildable but I've found that once it's worn to leaking they won't hold a kit anymore. They're cheap enough that I just change them when I change the hose.

I run those same swivels and have been happy with them.
 
Curious? Why would you use Brass when SS is available for the same price? You can rebuild the SS swivels for $2.15 including the backup rings...A lot less if you source the parts from somewhere else....I may have had 2 of these go bad in 6 years to where I had to rebuild them...Who knows how old the rest are!
 
The only reason I don't use high-end swivels at the gun is because they get so beat up from people dropping the guns.
 
Decisions...Decisions...Life is so full of choices!! LOL...

The Swivel I use is "High-End" Stainless Steel...When it starts to leak, I can rebuild it because the oring doesn't wear into the steel. The SS is tougher and doesn't get beat up as bad as brass when people drag it across the concrete... Price is $10.50...

Brass has to be thrown away when it starts to leak because the oring wears into the brass and normal friction wears out the fit making it impossible to rebuild ...Price is $10.99

Great info - Thanks.. Ordered a mosmatic - and will try it our - also will try out the ss version of the KR model listed. Is the mosmatic rebuild-able? Hoping so - hefty price for those 25.00 .. Will reply back once I use them for a while and get a feel for what works best.
 
Your first link is the J.E. Adams 7044 swivel, which they buy at a deeper discount because it doesn't have Adams' name on it.

The second is another manufacturer's which I don't recognize.

They're very similar in construction, I don't think the second one has ball bearings, the Adams one does not.

I don't think you really need to use a high priced ball bearing swivel on the foam brush handle. We hang our foam brush handles horizontal and then 90 the hose down so it's vertical with a swivel on the 90, this takes a lot of the strain off the hose.
