Hamilton HSH hopper

I'm looking for, if it's possible, just the armature for my hopper motor.
But I may have more serious problems.
The nylon horseshoe? part of the brake system has a crack in it.
I was going to order a brake kit but then noticed the nylon cam? on the armature is cracked and pulled open somewhat. I was able to close it back but it took considerable force to do that. Evidently something put quite a bit of force on the brake or armature cam to crack this part.
I talked to Hamilton and the armature is not available seperately. I would have to buy the complete motor.
My concern is what caused these parts to fail?
I don't want to get a new motor and have it fail in a similar way.
Anyone have any input?
Thanks,
David
p.s. the number on the motor is 3044. Hamilton asked that when I was going to order the brake kit.

David,
How many do you want? I've a bunch of bad motors. The part your talking about is part of the brake system of the motor. The motors don't last forever, they do fail over time. Shoot me an E-mail or PM and I'll see what I can find.

David, I've only had that happen once in all the years we've had Hamilton changers. One of the "hooks" broke off and we replaced the motor so they are pretty bullet proof.

Ours kept dumping tokens until the motor wound down because the hook wasn't there to stop it!

Kevin,
thanks for the info.
I have been in touch with Randy and he is able to help me out.
I inspected the hopper for additional wear, as Randy suggested, and everything looks OK.

This site is a godsend.

Randy,
Received the parts today, installed them and I'm up and running.
Thank you very much.
David
