Hamilton DTI to CryptoPay

It’s time to update my self Serv swipers to tap. Currently I’m running Hamilton DTI timers. I take bills,coins and card. I have the DAN system and use Hamilton value cards. If I switch to crypto I’ll need to ss Dixmoor led 8 timers and my Hamilton cards will no longer work.

Question….has anyone made the switch from Hamilton DTI to Crypto Pay….and if so….are you able to provide wire instructions. I’ll do count up!

Im a big Hamilton fan but those DTT are way overpriced. Not are they just over priced but you have to push a button to activate the reader which is something customers struggle with. Also those id tech 6800 readers have a high failure rate on a pay station let alone a SS bay and at almost $1200 a piece is a big pill to swallow every time one goes bad. For $500 a piece for a tap plus unit that last years on years and are completely waterproof your making a good move.

Wiring should be same as LED 7 but verify with dixmor. I cant find anything online.

Pin 7 - 24V Hot - Cryptopay Yellow Wire
Pin 6 - 24V Common - Cryptopay Black Wire & Red/Green Wire
Pin 9 - Count Up - Red/Green Wire

Stop Button Red Light:

Connect White wire from tap unit to White wire from button
Connect Blue wire from tap unit to Blue wire from button

If you want coin counting you can hook the two grey wires to:

Pin 2 and Pin 6. They are interchangeable

yeah thanks….i am getting a price from Hamilton …..I too am a huge fan of Hamilton. My huge concern like you said is the push button to tap required on gold line. I’m afraid pricing for Hamilton upgrade will price me out on Hamilton. I have 4 bays and 1 auto. I like the ease DAN but…..

Apparently I can keep my current dti setup in parallel with crypto pay…..BUT i would need to go to count down on card…..nit sure I like that option….though I’m going to 5min/$5 in the fall so may not be too huge based on savings

We have been trying the new IDETCH for hamilton since the start of the year. Zero failures. IDETCH had the reader in a box getting it wet all day, at the car wash show. It also incorporates into our Hamilton APP and we have a self service wash club now.

I also have the 6825 readers. I mentioned the 6800 because that was the pic in your original post. I have had mine for roughly 6 months also. No issues although mine are on pay stations and not in SS bays. Hopefully they last at least 5 years. I suspect the issue with the 6800 vs the 6825 is the chip reader on the 6800 is horizontal therefore water can pool in there and ruin the contacts. The 6825 being vertical likely reduces that risk significantly. There still is the tamper risk though but 90% of my failed 6800 readers were the chip contacts. Still hate how you have to push a button to activate it. Customers cant even figure out how to push a button to stop count up whether its hamilton, cryptopay, or nayax.
