Senate Bill SB-2099 will require us to put on our 2009 1040 federal tax
form all handguns that you have or own. It may require fingerprints and
a tax of $50 per gun. This bill was introduced on Feb. 24.

This bill will become public knowledge 30 days after it is voted into law. This is an amendment to the Internal Revenue Act of 1986. This means that the Finance Committee can pass this without the Senate voting on it at all.

The full text of the proposed amendment is on the U.S. Senate homepage,
http://www.senate.gov/ <http://www.senate.gov/> You can find the bill
by doing a search by the bill number, SB-2099.
You know who to call; I strongly suggest you do. Please send a copy of
this e-mail to every gun owner you know to help STOP this bill!!

God, I hate it when I forget to check with Snopes. I'm an idiot, but I did look at the link. Just goes to show you, check and double check. Although, in 2000 the Repubes were in control, no they are not. Obama has already said he is anti gun.

Dean, thanks for the good information. Just read in today's paper that in FL the applications for concealed carry permits have overwhelmed the offices. I got a permit about 8 years ago, and it took much less than a month. Today it is about 5 to 6 months. Have also heard from an instructor for the course that ammo is getting scarce. Too many people think you will never need a gun. I remember when the hurricane devestated Homestead , FL about 12 years ago. There was so much debris in the roasds, the radio was telling people that it was defend yourself, because the law could not get there. This years hurricane season just started. Stock up.

Ammo and gun sales are through the roof right now. There is a significant shortage of ammo in many areas. Because of this Wal-mart has instituted a store wide policy of of six boxes of ammo per day per customer.

The mayor of my small town was telling me a few weeks ago that they are having trouble finding ammo for the towns police officers. Every place is sold out. Sales of guns and ammo are through the roof.

In the last few months, I've been in Oregon, Northern California, and Vegas.

Every store, every market, etc. was wiped out of inventory of ammo. Not just low on stock-- out. The shelves at WalMart were bare-- ditto for Outdoor World, BiMart, etc.

I've heard the stories that there is increased demand, but does it seem that maybe something else is at work. At some point isn't everyone stocked up to the point where they want to be?

The reason for ammo shortage is because Obama plans to reinstate the ban on the sale of semi-automatic weapons and the components for them, and moreso because of a proposed tax on ammo. It has nothing to do with the fear of gun control, and people aren't "freaking out" and stockpiling because they're afraid they won't be able to get any later.

Some "dirtbag" in Polk County Florida who got pulled over in a routine traffic stop ended up "executing" the deputy who stopped him. The deputy was shot eight times, including once behind his right ear at close range. Another deputy was wounded and a police dog killed. A statewide manhunt ensued. The low-life was found hiding in a wooded area with his gun.

SWAT team officers fired and hit the guy 68 times.

Naturally, the media asked why they shot him 68 times. Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, told the Orlando Sentinel: "That's all the bullets we had!"

The sad thing is that the general public think that if you take your guns away that all will be perfect, totally missing the fact that the crooks will be the only ones that have guns.

I lived in Mexico (Mexico City) for 7 years, they have the strictest gun laws in the world, and all the crooks have Uzis, here you turn on the radio/TV to see where the accidents are, there you tune in to see which intersections the armed robberies are that day.

When seconds count, the cops are only minutes away.
