for gods sake can please some one explain this existing without my knowledge!

That is a Google street view from 12 years ago. The 2017 view shows it all stripped out. The hangy-down thingy reminds me of those old scary Ryko dryers. (they seemed to work well though)

Could be an old Hannah dryer. I remember having a blower like that when I was growing up.

Everyone used to make a contouring dryer - that was the technology of the 1960’s - 1990’s, until the air cannon/touchless concept became mainstream. More efficient airflow and more producers at a lower hp along with better water break, drying agents and setting rinses removed the necessity to keep the top nozzle so close to the car.

well thank you for that info but I realized something interesting. that is that the new touchless tec leaves water on the car thus having the need for a hand dry. so i was thinking to redesign the contouring dryer to be super effective and leave virtually no water on the car!

Good set ups already leave virtually no water on the car. Some excess water drops on the car is fine - that is why many operators use a spot free rinse process, or at least have their water quality to the point where any residual water will not cause spotting.

thank you so much for that info it was very helpful to me. but do you think that there is any way to redesign the contouring dryer just like the Europeans did and, bring it back to the American market again? if so I am very exited to see new designs for that kind of dryer by the modern car wash manufactures!
