Foam Brush Question

what do you consider at your car wash to be the best air to chemical PSI for a foam brush?

What do you look for in foam, do you prefer lots of foam or just a little.

Background, I moved over from a generic white foam soap that I had a hard time making foam with. Picked up a turtle wax product and was astonished at the amount of foam you can produce with it. Have it currently set so when you do a full size truck the foam is still slowly going down the side of the vehicle after you do the whole vehicle.

what's your opinion as each car washI have visited is drastically different.

What generic white foam brush soap were you using prior to going over to Turtle Wax? Which turtle wax soap did you switch over to? I used to use Turtle wax HP-75 for both high pressure soap and Foam brush. It foams up nice but I had a lot of problems with it snotting up in the tanks.
I like to have foam about like what you have it, so it plops, plops out of the foam brush head. One thing I found about Turtle Wax is it's expensive and it doesn't clean all that well.

using the HP-74 , its the same as the HP-75 but the foam is red. Had it now for a month and the usage has nearly tripled over the past product.

Price was $242 "Canadian" so about $175 used for 5 gallon

How much the foam clings to the the vehicle or slides off is probably more a characteristic of the product and and less affected by the air to product ratio.
All the products will have a different ratio. I like to set up my foam brush by sound. Turn on the FB and Hold the brush at shoulder height. When the foam hits the floor it should sound like cow shit hitting a cold concrete floor. Somehow everyone seems to know what that sounds like.
If the foam is too dry it won’t lubricate the brush enough. Dry foam will also leave more brush marks (holidays) . Too wet is just visually unappealing.

I like the distinction between a cold and warm floor.

In So. Cal. we use the homeless as our foamy brush gauge.
They don't get as much fiber, but the "clop" "clop" matches up with a metronome... and yes, too wet is visually unappealing.o_O

Many variables aside from Foam liquid and Air PSI. I did not using metering valves or foamers. Plenty of room for foam to generate from T above the bay fed by3/8" poly as it traveled down about 20 feet of 3/8" HP hose thru the foam Brush handle to the 6 hole Erie FB. Used KR Cherry Blossom with one Flo Jet for 4 bays (So had 2 for 8 Bays) with Flo Jet at 40 PSI and air at 15 PSI.
