Curious how other flex-model car washes handle this — genuinely asking, not fishing for validation of one approach. Would love to hear from both owners and managers — curious if the two sides see it the same way.
Staffing/scheduling — do you build your schedule off a labor-$-as-%-of-sales budget, or off production (cars per labor hour, by day of week)? Or some mix of both? And how often do you revisit it — daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly?
Management pay & bonuses — is it tied to one of your top 5 metrics you track? And what's the cadence — daily, monthly, quarterly, or annually? Does a more frequent payout actually change behavior, or does it not matter much once the amount is right?
Would love to hear how different shops structure this — no wrong answer, just trying to see the range of what's out there.
