Emptying Conveyor Trench

How often do you empty your conveyor trench? Do you have a company come and pump the mud or do you do the service in house? How much are you paying if you do it though a company?

We used to do it ourselves but disposing of it became troublesome. We call the pitsucker. They charge by the truckload and typically they will not fill the truck from the pit so they will use the rest of the space by taking as much as they can hold from the settling pits. A truckload just ran $1700.00 but around here the weight limits how much they can carry. This may not apply to other places. We typicaly need it done once a year. But it can be more in a good year.

We do our tunnel at least once a month, possible more on rainy days with shovels and a wheel barrow.

We just had a company come out to clean out our self serve bays. 7 bays and two overflow man hole tanks were $850.00 flat fee. Previously we had the same company out in May 2017. Some companies do charge by weight. This one does not. If they do, pump out all excess water and leave them the solids to keep costs down. Get a few quotes as these prices are pretty random.
