Customer racks up free time w/dixmor timer and royary switch

I have Dixmor LED7 timers and 8 position rotary switches.

We are in the equipment room and hear a bay being switched from one selection to the next very quickly. We go investigate. The kid says if you switch it fast you can rack up time. It took a bit of messing with but sure enough I was able to add time just as though an additional coin was added by ratcheting the rotary switch randomly.

Has anyone experienced this?

That's a new one on me, I've never hread of that. I'll have to try that next time I go to the wash.

I've actually seen that happen, but not with a Dixmor. If it only works with the timer running, try installing a relay on the timer output to isolate it from the switch.

Tell the kid that it's felony theft of service; he probably won't do it again.

Had the problem not long ago. My guy fixed it. I think it was a bad switch taht we replaced I will check with him. There was some sort of short sending a pulse back to the timer.

I tried it this morning at my wash and it didn't work, tried it in all the bays. I think you might have a bad rotary switch or a wiring problem.

Check to see if your last minute alert horn screws are tight.
I had the same problem and the vibration was causing a short in the loose connection and adding time to the timer...I tightned the connection and fixed the problem.
