Cryptopay Help

My network goes down occasionally. When this happens I believe the swipers store the card data and then try to process once the network comes back online. When the network is down I believe the swipers will still activate the bay even the card would have originally been declined. My question is there any way to know how many transactions or the $ amount that was used on bad cards that automatically get approved when this happens?

can't answer your question, but you should consider an automatic backup internet connection if your main one is going down regularly. A backup connection is cheap insurance and would probably be paid for by the $ you would normally lose by approving transactions that should be declined currently.

You can go to virtual terminal and see the declined card attempts when they eventually come in, but I don't think there is a way to tell how much they spent there. Cryptopay tech support could probably tell you if you gave them the transaction info. Let us know what you find out

After I got burned pretty badly one weekend by fraud I bought a starlink mini for internet backup and have it on the $10/month plan

Is it an internet provider issue or a power issue? If you are having power issues with the router, you could install a UPS Battery Backup to keep the router and your cryptopay coordinator live during a power blip.

None of the car wash equipment would work if the power was off.
I was referring to a power blip. Basically a quick drop in power would cause his router to reboot. This can take a few seconds and lead to the missed transactions he was describing.

Im using an old bridge to get internet from one building to another. The bridge sometimes drops or looses conection especially if the weather gets bad and will stay off until I reset next time at the wash. Thinking about just putting a starlink unit up and forgetting about it.

There's your problem, poor internet connection. Can't you have your internet provider run in your own internet service? Star Link is a little on the pricey side, I believe.

Have you tried an external antenna on the coordinator?

Check the starlink plans available in your area but for residential in my area the mini has a $10 month plan limited to 4GB, which is plenty. But there is a hardware cost of about $500 for the mini. It's the size of Ipad and has a built in router with both wifi and Ethernet port.

Sounds like the problem isnt with cryptopay itself but how the internet connections are.

Cryptopay has a way to see the connection strength between coordinator and devices, i would get them involved, tell them of the lay out and move the coordinator to the primary router and let them check connection strength with the coordinator located at the beginning of the bridge myself.

There is also an antenna you can get on amazon and replace the little stubby antenna to help increase the coordinators reception.

I would either do that and utilitze your existing internet connection or add a cellular connection just for the cryptopay in building 2, those can often be around $50/mo. but i wouldnt be paying for a 2nd internet service unless absolutely necessary.
