Covering Aluminum Rub rails

My 30 year old wash...is still chugging along. My two automatics, have aluminum pipe Rub Rails along the floor...to guide the cars. Over time, I can tell that there are some spots that are getting thinner. AI tells me to cover these pipes with recycled plastic lumber. This stuff, supposedly, is slick on the sides of the tires...and is supposed to work well. The plastic rub rail would be attached with countersunk stainless Truss Headed screws.

Does anyone have any experience doing this?

No experience with this, but I would use the plastic tunnels use on their conveyor rails. It's available from all the distribution channels and mcmaster
