That's the clients you want, go to the county website and see what the average income is per household start with something simple one automatic laser PDQ or Washworld with two self service bays and a Dog Wash you would be good if the people is there and not just abunch of tight farmers that don't spend money anyways lol.

How much do you think this project will cost you?
How many cars do you think you will wash per day on average?
What price will you average per car wash (income per car)? (probably somewhere between $5 to $12)

If you can provide answers to these questions, I would be able to give some advise on a carwash in rural iowa.
(I service over 50 locations in iowa)

I have a wash in a small rural town (2000+), 2 and 1, and do very well. I have added all the bells and whistles in the self service bays, and have a newer Touchless automatic. Do not underestimate the customer base you may have in your surrounding area. A town of your size may not support 2 nice washes, but will support 1.
