concrete control joints

We are demoing and pouring new concrete in 3 self serve bays next month. What has everyone used in the control joints? I've seen recommendations to use the sikaflex SL but was wondering how well that holds up in a self serve bay over time?

I’ve had control joints cut in with an edger (commonly referred to as “reshined edges”), cut with a saw, and preinstalled rubber joint edges. I’ve never filled the control joint.
I don’t think I’d bother to do anything. sikaflex would just make a huge mess IMO

Joint tool or saw cut is what you do like Eric said. Id saw cut in self serve bay. The width of the saw blade is much smaller then joint tool and serves the same purpose. Alot less debris and dirt will get stuck in the crack and need to be sprayed out.

Plan your control joints ahead of time and put a 6" long piece of pipe insulation around each heat tube where the joint will cross.
